  • Slick Willy #2..."Anything But the Truth" Obama

Is there any American left on planet Earth who believes the IRS doesn't have enough power at it's disposal? You all know them right? That fun loving government agency who reeks havoc and reigns hell down on the average American's life yet calls a no foul / no penalty play on DC's finest politicians when they "forget" to pay their fair share? Yes, the ultimate bill collectors, armed and ready to invade your homes, your bank accounts and jail you for not volunteering to pay your mandatory taxes, are now poised to collect more out of your rear ends for Obama Care ( or is it Pelosi -Care ) should it pass, and should you not pay. Don't you love that kind of "choice"?

Every one does remember these committed, heart felt, spine tingling words right
    ?

    READ ON

From the House Ways and Means Republicans:
Letter from the Joint Committee on Taxation

Today, Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee Dave Camp (R-MI) released a letter from the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) confirming that the failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi health care bill (H.R. 3962, as amended) could land people in jail. The JCT letter makes clear that Americans who do not maintain “acceptable health insurance coverage” and who choose not to pay the bill’s new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.

In response to the JCT letter, Camp said: “This is the ultimate example of the Democrats’ command-and-control style of governing – buy what we tell you or go to jail. It is outrageous and it should be stopped immediately.”

Key excerpts from the JCT letter appear below:

“H.R. 3962 provides that an individual (or a husband and wife in the case of a joint return) who does not, at any time during the taxable year, maintain acceptable health insurance coverage for himself or herself and each of his or her qualifying children is subject to an additional tax.” [page 1]

    - – - – - – - – - -

“If the government determines that the taxpayer’s unpaid tax liability results from willful behavior, the following penalties could apply…” [page 2]

    - – - – - – - – - -

    “Criminal penalties

Prosecution is authorized under the Code for a variety of offenses. Depending on the level of the noncompliance, the following penalties could apply to an individual:

    • Section 7203 – misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.

    • Section 7201 – felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.” [page 3]

When confronted with this same issue during its consideration of a similar individual mandate tax, the Senate Finance Committee worked on a bipartisan basis to include language in its bill that shielded Americans from civil and criminal penalties. The Pelosi bill, however, contains no similar language protecting American citizens from civil and criminal tax penalties that could include a $250,000 fine and five years in jail.

“The Senate Finance Committee had the good sense to eliminate the extreme penalty of incarceration. Speaker Pelosi’s decision to leave in the jail time provision is a threat to every family who cannot afford the $15,000 premium her plan creates. Fortunately, Republicans have an alternative that will lower health insurance costs without raising taxes or cutting Medicare,” said Camp.

According to the Congressional Budget Office the lowest cost family non-group plan under the Speaker’s bill would cost $15,000 in 2016.

    15,000$!?

Xangan wisdom of the day brought to you by ProvokingThought :

"What has the government done that we should place our trust in them? They have robbed and squandered the "trust fund" of Social Security, Medicare is going broke. Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, CRA, Energy...everything they touch they screw up. That is not being partisan, that is being objective".

It just keeps getting worse and worse. Who are they to say what a family can or cannot afford! You don't opt in, we'll send you to jail. When you get out you will STILL owe us the money,  plus interest for not having paid while incarcerated. Yay us.

  • xplodinglastbullet

haha...I remembered that, then 3 months into his presidency, we the small peon saw at least 3 new taxes as well as all of those lovely state taxes. XD What a freaking liar. Where's the lynch mobs at? =O

  • mejicojohn

hahahahahaha,,, hes better than the sunday comix section in the newspaper ever was.....

  • ProvokingThought

Oh, but from what I understand, you do not understand what Obama said. "under his plan". But his plan is not the plan being offered. He can always say " under his plan" and it is the plan not in Congress. People believe the president is talking about the congressional plan when he speaks of his plan, but he is not. It is why he can make any claim he wants and it is in reference to his plan, not theirs.

And they called Bill Slick Willy ! I should have bought stock in teflon

  • pb49r

"slick Willy"?  Let's get rid of "anything but the truth BARAK"

@ProvokingThought - lol. It's SO true. rotfl! It would be comical if it wasn't factual

  • firetyger

Hmmm....how many Americans already can't afford health insurance?  Are they going to throw millions of us in jail when we still can't pay for it?!

I can't believe the arrogance of our elitist government.  This very well could be what starts the next American Revolution.

  • fading_roses19

I am FINALLY home alone. My parents are out of town. My brother left to go hang out with his friends. Now, I have peace and quiet. Life's grand, for the time being. How are you doing? If I don't hear from you.. I hope you have a fabulous weekend.

i thought it was going to be free health care insurance for all americans? where does this $15k come in? also who determines  "acceptable health insurance coverage "  why do i have to purchase a plan when the government will be providing me with a health insurance plan? $250k fine and 5 year imprisonment? you don't get that for avoiding taxes as rangel did. or for bankrupting a country like bernake did. no no. the little peons like the faithful patriotic citizens of america will be imprisoned for not maintaining an acceptable health insurance coverage.of course this is going to be a political weapon. after all what is acceptable in one's eye maybe unacceptable to another. pelosi is a little dictator. and don't believe for one moment that obama had nothing to do with this. obama's political chips are all in on this health insurance reform passing. this is his trump card. in one way or another obama's finger print is on this one.

  • bukeshow

    @AnamcharaConcepts - I HATE this administration

  • trunthepaige

This one  . . .this is salt I wish was not available for rubbing into the wounds of Obama lovers and universal heath care supporters. It is just bad

  • Celtic_Wandering

@bukeshow - It's not just this administration that bothers me, it's all our elected officials who spout their nonsense about wanting the best for the people, yet continue to do what they want and bend to the will of the money brokers.

  • hotpinkstarberry

this is just going to far! they need to get their heads out of the dirt. Our goverment is ruining the lives of its own citizens. This is hardly fair.

  • bukeshow

@AnamcharaConcepts - you couldn't have said it better. Its all about the money. All you have to do is follow the money trail. Green jobs and all that other BS is part of the liberal agenda to "get money" on the sly while telling the people its for the good of the country.

  • LSP1

McCain was right. This is not free health care.

Actually you leave a lot of shit out of this, and ramble on about generic tax evasion penalties that apply to any attempt to avoid taxes and are not specified in this bill.

You ignore that the tax is on adjusted income, meaning you don't pay any taxes before your deductibles.  You ignore the fact that virtually every insurance policy in the country qualifies as "acceptible" health insurance under the statute and would exempt virtually all americans with health insurance from any form of tax, and you ignore that the tax is "up to" 2.5% and cannot be more than the average cost of an insurance policy that year.  You also ignore that the only way the cost would be 15,000 is if the average health insurance plan doubled in that time and $15,000 was 2.5% of the person's annual income, in which case they would not be hurting in the least.

Not to mention that if $15,000 was 2.5 percent of your income you'd be making about half a million dollars a year, or TWICE AS MUCH as the people obama promises not to raise taxes on in this video..

Your blogs are generally dishonest, or at least a repetition of dishonest people.

@agnophilo - Actually you leave a lot of shit out of
this, and ramble on about generic tax evasion penalties that apply to
any attempt to avoid taxes and are not specified in this bill.

Did you even read the letter? It is specified in this bill in very plain language. You can read it for yourself

There is nothing dishonest in this blog. You however argue around the point that is being made ---read my lips "no new taxes"...which doesn't address the fact of the "imprisonment" clause--and how Americans will really in the end have no choice.

  • agnophilo

    @ShamelesslyRed -

"Did you even read the letter? It is specified in this bill in very plain language. You can read it for yourself"

No, it's falsely claimed to be specified in this bill in plain language.

    For instance, it says:

"Section 7203 – misdemeanor willful failure
to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of
    up to one year."

H.R. 3692 doesn't HAVE a section 7203.  It goes up to section 3205.  They are referring to an undisclosed different piece of legislation and lying to say it's in this bill.  It isn't.

Furthermore, the only place the number 25,000 appears in THIS piece of legislation, is as the upper limit for penalties for nursing homes found to be harming their patients.

    "There
is nothing dishonest in this blog."

There's almost nothing in this letter that isn't dishonest.

"You however argue around the point that is
being made ---read my lips "no new taxes"...which doesn't address the
fact of the "imprisonment" clause--and how Americans will really in the
    end have no choice."

There is no "imprisonment" clause in this bill.  And setting aside that he specified which taxes would not go up, the president didn't write the frigging bill.  But feel free to criticize him if and when he signs this version as it is.

Thats it. I'm moving to Mexico.
Thanks for posting this letter, I'd heard about the jail penalty but not seen any official writing.

  • saturnnights

    15K?

That's astronomical compared to my current employer-provided insurance...  which I am VERY GRATEFUL to have.
