I wonder if you find irony in this cartoon that is more than 50 years old. Enjoy ( notice how they were rushed to sign the contract before actually reading it...reminds me of legislation of the last few years)
I've seen this cartoon before. Frighteningly prophetic.
Frighteningly true.
Oh, and prophetic. XP
Thanks to cmdr_keen, I was rec'ed this post. Good stuff. Keep up the good fight!
#1313 ...that was funny they used that number...that is where The Munsters lived , 1313 Mockingbird Lane. This was a good toon.
Awesome toon! Says more in 10 minutes than most presentations do in an hour. I can't imagine that this was "lucky guessing".
lol..how did u find this? It's politically sophisticated for a cartoon. But it's also just plain weird, i guess because it's so old. The 4th Amendment allusion was really disturbing-flatfoots-but i guess that's just me, one of the things that creep me out.
By the way, can anyone answer this? I keep seeing <3 all over the place. I thought at first it was part of a user name but i guess it's one of those internet abbreviations you just see. Like meh, whatever that means.
Except we do need SOME gov't oversight. Without that we'd be driving around in exploding Ford Pintos, taking untested medication and basically putting up with the minimum amount of work a company can do to get the maximum amount of profit. Look what deregulation did to America's banks. The trick is finding the right balance, something whoever wrote all those comments into the cartoon obviously doesn't understand.
@GodlessLiberal - what is the primary function of govt iyo? Did you know that this week govt heads have admitted to the Fed and the govt itself being behind the "bubbles" that caused the economic tsumami we're in? See
@ShamelesslyRed - I never said that our government does a good job of it, just that it should. A government should exist to protect the people from harm (via military, police, FDA, etc). Maybe there's more that it should be doing, but I'm out of it right now and can't think of anything.
This was really interesting. I agree with some of the others, everyone should see this cartoon.
@GodlessLiberal - I hope you feel better. I'm sorry that you're feeling rotten.
